i never believed anything they said in the first place, they proved their theories right (or they were proven right by others). there's no use in believing them, as they probably didn't know much about medicine or sub-atomic physics or politics or geological history or the crimean war or whatever else their theories were not about. they didn't prove themselves believable, they proved correct only their specific theories we still hold to be true.

never believe anything; think instead.
